THE BREAKDOWN

Accommodation Options

QCCC Mapleton offers onsite dorm accomodation. With rooms of different sizes, some rooms featuring an ensuite and some with a bathroom block attached. All onsite accommodation is a flat rate and not affected by your room assignment.

Unfortunately QCCC Mapleton does not currently allow onsite camping. However, due to a generous offer from a member of the house we are able to provide offsite camping at a location 2kms away from QCCC as an option to those who just love camping! If you choose to camp offsite, this would purely be a place for you to sleep and all food and camp activities will still take place onsite at QCCC Mapleton.

Please note: If you are registering for onsite accomodation and your group does not meet the full accommodation capacity for the rooms available, there is a chance that you will be placed in a room with other people so we can ensure that we are able to make space for everyone who would like to attend camp. [For example: There is a limited number of 2 bedroom dorms, so if you are a couple and you book to stay onsite, we may need to place you in a bigger room with another couple if we reach capacity.]

When you register, you will have the opportunity to let us know if there is anyone specific you would like to room with. If you don’t specify, that’s okay! We will always check in with you before assigning you to a room with someone you don’t know.

FAQ

Have questions about FlameTree Family Camp? They may already be answered!

Have a read through this FAQ Page, and if your question hasn’t been answered you can email info@flametree.org.au

  • who is camp for?

The FlameTree Family Camp is for people who call FlameTree Church home.

Not just for families, but for all people and generations - old and young!

  • what does the price include?

The price of camp is per person, and includes everything you will need for the full weekend. Accommodation, food (5 meals total, plus morning & afternoon tea, and suppers) and activity costs.

  • why is it more expensive?

Due to QCCC Noosa closing their doors, we have had to move campgrounds this year. While QCCC Mapleton has graciously offered us a discounted rate to have camp at their site, their site is a fully catered site which - amongst other things - makes it more expensive. (Marg and George Henders have done a remarkable job at helping us keep costs down each year with their wonderful catering skills!)

We have done what we can to reduce and subsidise the final cost of camp for adults and children. However, if the cost is still too high for you, please just make yourself known to our leadership team and we can find a solution that works for you! We believe that anyone who wants to come to camp should be able to, and we are so happy to work with you to make sure you can come along too.

In saying that, if you are in a place where you are happy to pay the un-subsidised cost of $150 per person, please make note of this when you register.

  • can I bring my own food?

While you’re not able to bring your own meals due to QCCC Mapleton being a fully catered site, you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks (please no alcohol & no nuts).

Any food you bring must be stored in your accommodation, as we do not have access to the kitchen at this campsite.

  • do I need to bring my own bedding?

Yes. The onsite accommodation will supply a single mattress, but you will need to bring your own linens, blankets, pillows and towels.

  • do the onsite accommodations have heating?

Yes! All QCCC Mapleton accomodation has reverse-cycle, split-system air conditioning.

  • do the onsite accommodations have bathrooms?

There are a variety of onsite dorm layouts, some rooms do include an ensuite. However, some just have a toilet/shower block attached to the overall dorm building.

You can submit a request to have a room with an ensuite, however no promises will be made and all final room assignments will be completed by the FlameTree admin team based on what is most suitable for the majority.

  • do I have to register for a day visit?

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!

If you are coming for the day on Saturday, Sunday or both - you must register.

Any day visitors on Saturday, must register and pay for the day visitor pass. All of your meals and activity costs are included in this price.

Any day visitors on Sunday, must register! There is no cost for attending Sunday, however no food is provided for Sunday day visitors.

  • can I bring my pet?

Due to all of the beautiful wildlife at QCCC Mapleton, pets are not allowed.

  • how do I get there?

The campsite is located at 70 Obi Obi Rd, Mapleton .

  • is there wifi?

There is no wifi, and very limited service at the campsite. It’s a great chance to disconnect from your device, and connect with the people around you!

  • are the beds comfortable?

As this is our first year at QCCC Mapleton, we don’t know! However, we have it on good authority that the beds are more comfortable than the beds at Noosa...

If you prefer a softer sleep, consider bringing a mattress topper or extra blankets to be safe!

  • do the cabins have power?

Yes! All onsite accommodation at QCCC Mapleton have power.

  • is there wheelchair access?

All the main buildings are connected via a footpath. Where there is no footpath, the ground is level enough.

  • what about church on sunday morning?

We will enjoy our church service at camp on Sunday the 17th!

If you’re not able to come to camp for the full weekend, but you don’t want to miss church - register for a day pass on Sunday and join us for church!
